Once in a blue moon (who am I kidding, way more often than that) I receive a shipment of vinyls that makes all my worries go away. I open the box, smell those magical pieces of plastic and start to get lost . Sometimes I even take my vinyls into the toilet with me, stare at the coves, read the inlays and end up staying in there way longer than intended.
Today is one of those days. I arrived in New York this morning and first thing I heard when my mom got back was that I received something in the mail. I knew what it was right away. La Sera's "Never Come Around" 7inch. The song isn't that fresh anymore but receiving this 7inch seemed fresher than anything I received lately. As I am not in my own house right now the only thing I got to do with this record is stare at its beautiful design (complete independent look sleeve and half red, half clear wax vinyl woohooo) whilst listening to it on my itunes. 6 dollars well spent I must say.
Just to show that sometimes owning it in physical form is all you need even if you don't get to play the damn thing. Knowing this item is extremely limited makes you feel like you are unique just for a short while. Shallow perhaps?

This Vivian Girl chick aka Kickball Katy is one to look out for. Riding on that Vivians Girls wave that she partially created she shows that this sound is gonna be around for a while. And fuck I like it! Her self titled debut "La sera" is out February 15th via Hardly Art.
Just you try and resist this luscious lady:
This 7" single could be yours buy it at insound!
And if you're feeling a bit on the geeky side, here's a video on how vinyls are made. Get your tissues ready...
